Bringing the Land Back to Life…

There is something special about land that has a history.

Before Constantina’s Abundant Acres, before the plans, the workshops, the farm dinners and everything I can already see this place becoming, this property was once a working flower farm.

And then, for years, it sat.

The land became overgrown. Parts of the property became a dumping ground. Buildings and structures needed attention. Trees, vines and brush took over spaces that had once been intentionally cultivated.

But when I looked at it, I didn’t just see what had been neglected.

I saw what it could become.

Acres With a Mission

Constantina’s Abundant Acres is bigger than growing vegetables.

The vision is to create a working community farm centered around food access, agricultural education, wellness and self-sustainability…especially for communities that have not always had equal access to land, agricultural education or spaces like this.

I want children to come here and pull food from the ground.

I want families to learn that growing food doesn’t require perfection or generations of farming experience.

I want people to gather around a table and eat something that was growing just a few feet away.

I want us preserving food, making herbal preparations, learning about orchards, composting, pollinators and soil.

I want people laughing, eating, learning and getting their hands dirty.

And yes, sometimes I want us sitting outside with a beautiful glass of wine enjoying what we built.

Because agriculture can be educational and practical while still being beautiful, joyful and elevated.

Bringing the Land Back

Right now, we’re in the messy part.

We’re clearing.

Repairing.

Learning.

Planning.

We’re restoring existing structures and figuring out what can be saved. We’re thinking through hoop houses, growing spaces, an orchard, a teaching garden, composting, pollinators, wellness spaces and places where the community can gather.

Some days the vision feels enormous.

Then I walk the property and remember exactly why I’m doing it.

This land doesn’t need to become something completely different.

It needs to become productive again.

We’re not erasing its history as a farm.

We’re continuing it.

Why I’m Sharing the Journey

I thought about waiting until everything was finished before really showing the process.

But that’s not farming.

And honestly, that’s not life either.

There will be beautiful harvests here, but there will also be weeds.

There will be successful projects and things that have to be done twice.

There will probably be plants I baby for months just for them to turn around and die on me anyway.

That’s part of it.

So I’m going to share the process…

not just the polished version at the end.

I’ll share what we’re planting, what we’re learning, what we’re building, what doesn’t work, what we’re harvesting and what we’re making from it.

We’ll talk gardening, farming, food preservation, herbs, Michigan growing, farm-to-table experiences and the work that goes into bringing neglected land back into production.

And along the way, you’ll get to watch Constantina’s Abundant Acres grow.

Literally…

Welcome to the Acres

We’re still at the beginning.

There is a lot of work ahead, and I’m okay with that.

Because when I look across these acres, I don’t see an abandoned property.

I see food growing.

I see children learning.

I see tables filled with people.

I see an orchard.

I see workshops, dinners and community.

I see abundance.

And little by little, we’re going to grow it.

Welcome to

Constantina’s Abundant Acres.

Acres with a mission.
